Prehospital / Community Tools
To be applied to all patients under 16 years of age.

To be applied to all non-pregnant adults and children over 15 years.

For use by midwives and primary health practitioners within community settings. To be applied to all women who are pregnant or have been pregnant in the last 6 weeks irrespective of outcome with fever suspected infection and/or abnormal vital signs.

In-Hospital and Urgent Care
Our clinical tools are aligned with BPAC guidance and have been developed in collaboration with the UK Sepsis Trust and medical specialists working in New Zealand hospitals. The tools focus on simplifying the decision making process and delivering early resuscitation using the "Sepsis Six".
To be applied to all patients under 15 years of age.

To be applied to all non-pregnant adults and children over 15 years with fever (or recent fever) symptoms, or who are clearly unwell with any abnormal observations.

To be applied to all women who are pregnant or up to six weeks postpartum (or after the end of pregnancy if pregnancy did not end in a birth) who have a suspected infection or have clinical observations outside normal limits.

Use in conjunction with EWS chart & Sepsis Six Screening and Action Tool.
This guidance is for the emergency management of patients with sepsis.
