Volunteer Fundraiser position - join our team to help save lives in Aotearoa
Sepsis Trust NZ is a small, purpose-driven charity dedicated to raising awareness of sepsis and improving outcomes for those affected. Entirely funded through donations, we are seeking a proactive and organised Volunteer Fundraiser to help strengthen and coordinate our fundraising efforts.
This is an opportunity to contribute your skills to a cause that genuinely matters, while working flexibly and independently.
About the role
As our Volunteer Fundraiser, you will play a key role in supporting and growing our funding pipeline. This is a coordination-focused role, ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, organising outreach, and ensuring follow-through.
Key responsibilities
Identify and research potential fundraising targets (organisations, corporates, community groups, grant opportunities)
Coordinate outreach communications (email, social, and other channels)
Track and manage follow-ups to maintain engagement
Support relationship management with donors and partners
Coordinate thank-you communications to acknowledge contributions
Assist with issuing donation receipts and maintaining basic records
Assist with grant applications and accountability reports
What we’re looking for
Strong organisational and communication skills
Experience in outreach and relationship-building
Ability to work independently and manage your own time
Attention to detail and follow-through
Passion for making a difference in the health sector
Previous fundraising, sales, or stakeholder engagement experience is a bonus (but not essential)
