The NZ Sepsis Trust and ASID would like to invite submissions for oral or poster presentation at the NZ Sepsis Conference 2021, from all interested clinicians from any relevant specialty or discipline.  This could be your own or your team’s original research. Or, alternatively, please consider submitting a ‘state-of-the-art’ review of a key topic you believe will add value to this conference.

The program includes a wide range of sepsis-related topics – including from multiple related specialties; adults and children; clinical and systems; and also patient, public health, indigenous, and political perspectives.  There are sessions set aside to review and educate on key ID & Microbiology topics, such as antimicrobial therapy, laboratory diagnostics, AMR/AMS, and sepsis in special populations.

Submission Guidelines

  • Abstract submission must be made via the presentation portal and in the correct .doc or .docx format using the template supplied below. Incorrectly formatted abstracts will not be considered for review, and you may be asked to resubmit.
  • Abstracts must not exceed 400 words (this applies to the main body of the abstract, and excludes abstract title, authors and affiliations and references).
  • All abstract content is published as submitted, ensure you have carefully proofed your document prior to upload.
  • All oral and poster presenters are required to register for the conference.
  • The length of the oral presentations will be determined by program availability.
  • Oral and poster presentations will be selected from the submitted abstracts and the Organising Committee decision is final.
  • Posters will be on display throughout the conference in Rotorua, and electronically via the virtual conference platform. Instructions for preparation of your poster will be sent, should your submission be accepted for presentation, following close of submissions.
  • Applicants will be notified of acceptance by October 1, 2021 (Earlybird registration closes on October 12, 2021).

Abstract Submission Process

  • Download the abstract submission template, and write your abstract(s).
  • Save as separate .doc or .docx file, in an easily accessible location on your computer.
  • You will be required to enter abstract title, presentation type (oral or poster), authors and their affiliations, and a short biography of the presenting author before uploading the abstract document. Please have this information ready before accessing the portal.
  • Access the Presentation Portal below, register with your email address, and submit a password.
  • Update contact information and then follow the instructions.
  • You are able to upload multiple submissions via the one log-in.You may access the presentation portal using your email address and password to upload further abstracts until submissions close on September 13, 2021.

 

You will receive a return email to confirm you have submitted your abstract(s). Contact the Conference Manager, should you not receive this email within 24 hours.

Prize Information

ASID Trainees’ Prize

Please indicate during the online submission process if you wish to be considered for the ASID Trainees’ Prize.  To be eligible, you must be both an ID/Micro Trainee and a paid member of ASID.  The submission can be on any theme, as an oral presentation.  Please note that the Program Committee may remove your entry (without notice) should you not meet the appropriate criteria.
